Question by Army Wife: Whats wrong with his eye?
I just got an Avacado puffer fish today. I noticed one of his eyes is clouded over white. It kinda looks like when a dog gets a cataract… can fish get these or is it a disease??
hes skinny, not bloated if this helps
nice plagiarism natalie….
now he has things hanging around his eyes that look like clear strings….I am calling the fish store tomorrow to see if they can look at him for me.

I have a pug thats about 21/2 years old, he was fine yesterday and today his left eye was sealed shut with alot of gunk! We took him to the Vet and he said our pug has a cataract….Does this sound right his eyes were clear yesterday now there is a nasty film on his left eye? Someone please help

I have been seeing double for the last 2 years and the doubling of my vision only happens in dim light and never in a well lit area. It can also appear as triple or multiple vision in both of my eyes (But again only in dim lights or when there’s a light object with a dark backround). Also i have been seeing halos and glares but i didn’t know when they started. One last thing is that my vision is cloudy when i’m looking at a light source and the cloudiness moves along the light source as i move my eyes. I have been to the eye doctor twice and found nothing wrong with my eyes. Everything else is ok with my eye. I have 20/20 vision and no other health problems. And i don’t stress my eyes out and also i get enough sleep. Can anyone please tell me what might be causing my vision problems and the doctor said it can’t be cataracts. I’m only 15.
I am not stoned or hallucinating. Please help. No one else can help me =(

Double vision at nighttime but normal vision during daylight?

Well if your eyes aren’t able to point in the right direction then it can be ONE of the causes of double vision.

When you walk at night do you feel less relaxed than at daytime? its a good idea to ensure you dont alarm yourself unnecessarily. So if you know your eyes can turn and move effortless (without any difficulty) then that might rule out eye muscle issues. At nighttime pepole usually use their peripheral vision more because the central part of vision is less effective in dimly lit surroundings Do you have issues with everything appearing too dark? Do you think everything appears darker than for others? that might be worth asking about.

The cloudiness of vision sounded strange. If you are researching it try focusing on that as well as the double vision aspect.

Nowadays websites are very clever and can help diagnose many conditions. (But obviously talking to someone face to face will always be more effective.)
You can try putting in your symptoms and see if any results are worth investigating:

Also dont restrict yourself to the opinion of one professional. Try to find someone who may be able to give an alternative diagnosis. This is because you cant expect just one person to be able to diagnose ALL medical problems out there.

my kitten was recently diagnosed with FIP- they took a fluid sample from his lungs and used that as their form of diagnosis, so it wasn’t formal but the vet said they are almost positive that is what he has. aside from that, I have been noticing that his eyes sort of glow- if that makes any sense. They seem more reflective and I cant really see much of the color in his eyes. I just took a closer look and it appears that his right eye has some sort of cluster inside. It just looks like many tiny specks all over his eye. I am wondering if this may be a symptom of FIP and if not, could someone please tell me what this may be? I have already researched glacoma and cataracts and it does not seem like it would be either because his eyes are not cloudy, they just glow and have those specks. Also from the symptoms I described would you say that he could be going blind?

Did they send the fluid to a lab?
Does your cat have a fever 99% of fip cats have a fever
You need to do the titer test for this.
Was your cat tested for felv/fiv..
Most cats get the wet form of fip but the fluid accumulates more in the abdomen.
Here is my advice knowing what i do know about fip and cats..
If your vet is wrong and the cat doesn’t have fip you need to find out before your cat dies what is really wrong….the only way to be totally sure it’s fip is to do an autopsy after the cat dies..we don’t want to do that so what you need to do is…
fip titer test..it’s a simple blood test. It can’t tell you 100% that the cat does have it but it can tell you if the cat doesn’t have it.
I had a sick kitten…it was literally dying…she would not eat or drink for weeks..after thinking that’s what the cat had after all other tests were done we did the fip titer test..it showed the cat did NOT have it and what she did have was bad virus that she finally over came and got better.
IF YOUR VET HAS NOT DONE AN FIP TITER TEST YOU MUST FIND A NEW VET.
