Only your eye doctor can tell you if you need glasses. You don’t need them because your family all wear them.

Question by Steve: Blurry vision: Will eye drops help?
Lately, I have blurry vision, kinda like I just woke up, or what you would see in a cataract commercial
I’ve heard eye drops help fix this problem as it may be a vitamin deficiency.
Or could this be something worse? If I try to focus my vision it goes back to being clear but I have to focus a bit hard to keep is clear and in focus.
That’s the catch, I’ve seen two doctors. They both didn’t give me a answer, they didn’t know.
I’ve been doing alot of school work. But my sight hasn’t increased. And I’m only 17 so I doubt I can get cataracts. I don’t play videos but maybe once a week.
I went to a eye doctor who did a few test then referred me to a eye specialist at a hospital called MCG.
I’m also a photographer, so I take lots of pictures but I don’t strain when taking them. I don’t like tan’s so I don’t go out in the sun much to need eye protection.
I’ve never had eye surgery, but I did have an irregular heartbeat and high blood pressure but it’s normal now. And I only took meds for ADHD which I don’t take anymore.
I don’t have allergies, and I haven’t injured my eyes lately.
Video games* and I meant to say is hasn’t changed from it’s current vision level.
Can that be helped any? The farsightedness. I mean things I read up close are in focus but things a bit far off are out of focus, which is what I have to focus on.

Question by Jennifer L: I have a history of severe migraines, now I have blurred vision in my left eye that hasn’t gone away?
I’ve had chronic severe migraines for 10 years. Over the 10 year span the migraines have increased to 2-3 a week, the pain has increased and most of the time the headaches lasts for 2 or more days. Usually my head will be “sore” after really bad migraines and the least little thing I do can trigger another. Four years ago I had lasik eye surgery which corrected my vision tremendously. Over the past year I’ve noticed that my vision has suddenly changed. I also have blurred/fuzzy vision in my left eye. I’m 30 years old and I just had an eye exam by an optometrist who said I could possibly have a cataract forming in my left eye. I do not have a history of diabetes and this concerns me. My eyes hurt soooooo bad after my eye exam!!! My head throbbed, my eyes were sore, and I had a headache for 2 days after the exam. I was prescribed reading glasses (no correction in my left eye, but I have an astigmatism in my right eye that needed correction for me to read.) I’m concerned that there could be more going on. When I have really bad migraines I have a hard time saying things, I’ve noticed that my body will all of a sudden tense up and if I’m holding something I drop it. I will have body jerks several times and it is very scary. My boyfriend has noticed that when I’m talking, I will stop in the middle of what I’m saying, and I will start over again. I’m wondering if anyone else knows what this could be from? I’m so scared that it is something serious.
The last MRI I had was in 2000 which was negative. The reason I came here to ask was because I didn’t know if I was just over reacting. I do not have health insurance right now and I can’t afford to go to the doctor if there is a chance that I’m just over reacting. Any information is appreciated.

Have you ever had an MRI or CT scan of your brain? That could rule out some things…I’m not sure what it could be…Maybe something from the lasik surgery?

Question by Dilbert: Mild cataracts cause double vision?
I have cataracts that are too mild to need surgery. However, one of my eyes sees double when being tested for an eyeglass prescription. Do mild cataracts cause double vision with eyeglasses? Can I get used to it, or should I not wear glasses? I don’t actually need glasses in a lot of situations. In broad daylight I see fine without them. A lot of people with worse vision than mine don’t wear them because they don’t like them. So my question is whether the double vision is a good reason to not get eyeglasses, or whether I’m likely to get used to it and benefit enough from the eyeglasses to make them worthwhile in spite of the double vision.
In any case I’m not going to get cataract surgery any time soon. Mainly because there is only one cataract surgeon in town and he recommends against it till they get worse.

If the double vision is monocular (as it it is still there when you cover your other eye up) then this is most likely caused by your cataracts. Cataracts are usually removed if they are causing monocular double vision, even if they are still classed as being in their early stages.
It would be worth getting a second opinion
