Question by Necro Illbill: I am 13, do you think I have cataracts.?
I see blurry / double from a distance. Up close no, and when I squint it goes away. I’m 13 years old.
It’s in both eyes, it’s light blur from a distance only and it’s only bad enough so that you can’t reconize detail but when I squint most of it takes away. Not nothing big that effects me badly. I also notice shines / crystals coming from sources of light such as a lightbolb as if you were to look at a lightbulb while your eyes were watery. Is this something I should worry or panic about?
why don’t you think this is cataracts, I am in a bad state of anxiety and fear at the moment. If a little thing appears in my vision that’s probably normal (Like looking into the light, then into the dark then it leaves a blob that fades away quickly) then I panic bad.
So please give me encouraging words, BUT THEY MUST BE TRUE! What can make me go blind all of a sudden is their any disease or what ever that can just make me go blind fast?

The symptoms told by you seems like that of cataract. This particular eye disease mostly affects adults. However, it is not restricted to them. It might occur in adolescents as well. It is the matter of your eyes. Take it with utmost care. Visit an ophthalmologist as soon as possible. If you want to take some precautionary measure from you side till the time you visit a doctor, you can protect your eyes from dust, dirt and strong winds, and even strong lights. You can wear sunglasses whenever you have to go out in sun. Ray ban sunglasses are cool to look at. They are always in trend as the brand name adds to the glamor. You can learn more about it by visiting its website https://www.ezcontactsusa.com/. Hope, I could provide you some relevant and useful information.

See the eye doctor. Cigarette smoke can also help cataracts to form.

Question by Kamal: What do you think of my poem?
Droning syllables drive silly words into the misty air
Digging talons into the folds of my skin
With their obnoxious odiousness.

My Cloudy eyes glazed with cataracts drink in the
Disorder, comprehending nothing,
Understanding something.

Broken phrases, disjointed stretches
Abrupt breaks, a part of it all
Leave me with astringent taste.
Do you think it’s good enough for me to submit to a literary magazine?

Question by Silly Rabbit_<3's Merlin: I think I am being very selfish with my dad’s depression.?
I’ll start from the beginning. My dad had cataract surgery on both eyes, and they haven’t completely healed yet. One eye is still a bit fuzzy and the other eye is very fuzzy. Because of his eye problem, he’s unable to work, read, or do any of the things he enjoys. For the last month or so, he’s gotten very depressed, noticeably. My mom wants me to come over more to visit him, but it upsets me to see him depressed and I don’t go as often as I used to. I know it’s really bad and selfish of me to do so, but I just don’t know how to deal with it.

What should I do?

Take one for the team!! he is your only father!! my mom was passing away from her own drug abuse.. and as much animosity as i had because of her actions and it being a self inflicted health issue.. i sat the past aside and enjoyed my sober mother for the last 4 mon. of her life.. you have to be an adult about this, we are all going to be face w. similar situations like this.. ask yourself, “how will i feel once he is gone and there was so much time i could have spent w. him.”
He can and will get worse, spend time w. him while you can, dont show him you are uncomfortable be uplifting even if it breaks you inside and you go home drained! good luck to you and your family! :)

Question by Ethel Mertz: Do you think we have taken our eye sight for granted, especially in the early years?
An older family member was just told by her eye doctor that she has Macular Degeneration (Dry kind). It’s a slow growing process but there is nothing they can do, but to take certain vitamins. She also has 1 small Cataract and had her other eye done with surgery (the one that developed the Macular Degeneration). A friend of mine has Glaucoma and Cataracts. And I am starting to get more Floaters and Dry-Eye. So I have really been using sunglasses every single time I’m outside. And I am guilty to have taken my eyes for granted all these years. If only we could go back in the past, know what we know now and change, at least, some of our health issues. Oh well, live and learn I guess. Do you feel somewhat the same way too?

(Yahoo’s spell checker didn’t like the word “Macular”, but it is spelled correct too because I went on google to get the right spelling of it).

And LOL LOL LOL, Yahoo wanted this question in the “Family & Relationships > Marriage & Divorce!!! If I had sent it there, do you realize how many would say, “Why is this question in here?” ha ha…oh dear me….

ya a lot of people spend too much time in front of a screen, eventually your eyes really suffer. People don’t think about it much though.
