Question by M.S: Treatment of eye sight with laser. Side effects.?
What are the side effects of having a laser treatment for your far sighted eyes. Is there any chance of having an operational restriction in a future cataract developed in your eye?

I had it done for my nearsighted eyes 2 years ago. Not lasik but a similar procedure (flapless), Dr. Petelin (the best). I can’t find his website. Anyway, no dry eyes, no major side affects at all. In fact, my night vision is much better than with glasses before as well. My vision is 20/15 in both eyes. I’m super pleased with getting it done. I would do it over and over again. As far as cataracts I’ve never heard a link, however living in AZ like I do I will probably have to deal with them someday with all the sunshine we have. Dr. Petelin does cataract surgery too. :)

Question by Jay: Are there side effects with eye transplants?
My mom has had cataract surgery last year, and the eye doctor has not only removed the cataracts but inserted eye transplants (without my mom’s knowledge or discussion). It would be a grueling six months for her to recover. Well, she can see better, but she has been experiencing headaches constantly. The eye doctor insisted that it’s allergies; however, she has had some redness in her eyes. The constant headaches are a nuisance.

Has anyone had cataract surgery, and their eye doctor put in transplants ever experiences side effects including headaches?

I want to know if anyone experience this.

Also, does having the transplants causes nerve damage, the company Alcon were the providers of this product (a catastrophe, if you ask me), and it seems no one’s taking responsibility. You’re not provided any questions. I hope this is something my mom won’t regret later. Are there any doctors that can give her any information with regards to these transplants? Experiences with headaches are a constant factor, and I need answers.

Do doctors except commissions with these procedures (by using the poor community as guinea pigs no doubt)?

Advice: never trust the doctors who will pull the wool on the patients with bright ideas.

Thanks.

A concerned writer.

No, sweetie. Rest easy…..

Your mother didn’t have an eye transplant. She had a lens replaced, usually its plastic. Google eye surgeries + lens replacements. It’s an extremely common surgery.

No one is yet popping out an eye, and replacing it with the eye of someone newly dead. Sorry.

Advice: Never draw conclusions from information you don’t understand. There is no such thing as a stupid question. Only stupid conclusions on information not understood.

What do you think? Answer below!
