Cataracts Treatment

Question by jaymepower: My healer is acting strange and seems to be sick?
My 4 yr old Blue Heeler has been acting weak for about 4 days. We took her to the vet this morning (because the vet was closed through all of last week), but he wasn’t sure what was wrong. She has developed cataracts, and has been limping for no apparent reason. Today it looks like her tummy is bloated and her pee was a green color. Please help us if you have any idea what is wrong with her.

get a second opinion!
Is your dog taking any corticosteroids?if not:cataracts are common in many breeds(yes at a young age)
Other possibilities are countless!
need to run blood and urine tests.
some breeds are prone to developing Cushing’s syndrome:it causes many strange symptoms.
it is diagnosed by blood tests!(not fatal,need meds to control the illness)

the vet gave me some “neo-poly-bac hydro” cream but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything. He also gave me some eye drops that appear to be doing a little bit but not much. My question is what else can i do about this ? He doesn’t think it’s that big a deal but it clogs his eyes up so bad ,he can’t even see. I have to take a q-tip and scoop it out once in a while. This problem just started out of the blue, I thought it was an infection. I know many will say, take him to another vet and I probably will, but I was curious if anyone else has seen this condition? To me it looks almost like cataracts once its full of that goo substance
