Question by TLoBo23: Troubles Seeing in Right Eye?
For almost 3 weeks I have been having troubles seeing out of my right eye. It is almost as if I have been staring at a light for a long time and then look away. It started while I was at work working with my computer and it seems to progressively gotten worse where it is almost everywhere I look. I will occasionally have some good days where it barely bothers me at all, though rarely. I went to the Ophthalmologist and she couldn’t really find anything wrong, except my right eye is a little “blurry” when you look into it. My eye pressure was 17 and everything else looked fine. She wants me to have a glucose testing to see if maybe that could be the cause of at least my high vision change. She said she wants to see me back in 3 months for a follow up as the blurriness could be the beginning of something, possibly cataracts. Has this ever happened to anyone??
I am 22 years old. I am fairly healthy and am pretty sure I do not have diabetes. I have been tested recently as I have a 6 month old and was tested for diabetes among other things. I do not have aids, I have been tested a few times with pregnancies and have only been with 1 person and he is not cheating on me. Any other ideas? Thanks for everyones help!

Question by Sam: Is seeing halo around lights normal or abnormal?
Hi,Im a 15 year old male and I have just recently read that seeing halo around lights is a sign of an eye disorder such as cataracts, I have actually experienced that my entire life or as long as I can remember, Is this humanly normal or is it actual a sign of an eye disorder?

I see halos, too. Mine is from a progressive eye disease called keratoconus. You might want to get your eyes checked out if you haven’t done so already.

Question by Linda M: I have cataracts, but the doctor didn’t say anything about surgery. Having a hard time seeing in the sunlight.?

If your doctor did not recommend surgery, see another eye specialist that does cataracts. It may be that your doc does not do them. Or maybe they are not bad enough yet. But if you are having difficulty seeing, ask for a second opinion. My hubby has had cataracts removed from both eyes and is sooooooo much better! I have a small one that is not big enough to remove yet.

Question by Dad: Having problems with seeing halos in my vision. What did your doctor cure yours with?
I’ve visited my eye specialist for seeing halos in my vision… The halos are easily seen when looking at street-lights and from upcoming vehicle headlamps…

I’ve been seeing halos now for the past 2 months, and even with treatment I’m not noticing improvement.

I am on two medication:

1. Alphagan

2. Omnipred

My eye specialist tested me for cataract, glaucoma and other possible causes for seeing halos, but all test results were negative.

When the halos come on strong, my vision become extremely blurry and sensitive — so sensitive that they feel like they are going to blank out…

I do have eye floaters, which is not correctable. But I never used to see halos in my vision.

I want to hear from you.
Dad

Question by GET REAL: I am seeing halos around lights, white splotchy vision?
It is only affecting the right eye and only when I wake up for a few hours and maybe a little before I go to bed. There is sometimes pain involved when moving my eye upward, this is rare. The other symptoms are general photophobia, halos around lights (close lights look like one large light), occasionally some redness in the white of the eye. For most of the day there are no symptoms at all and my vision is perfect. I do not wear contacts.
What could be the culprit causing the morning symptoms but having none later in the day? Sinus problem, diabetes, a cataract, blood pressure, glaucoma, any ideas?
Do cataracts ever cause pain and would the symptoms only be present in the morning hours?
Could the symptoms of CMV retinitis occur only in the morning hours and clear during the rest of the day?
