Question by Alanna Jane: my eye doctor didn’t prescribe the right medication..?
i once left in my contacts in my eyes and ever since then my eyes have been getting really rapidly and and i know this isnt normal because allot people with glasses say they eyes either improve or stay the same..and mines just keeps worsing i know theres more to whats going with eyes otherwise this wouldnt happening ..so i told my eyes get dry, and even told i left in contacts over night but didn’t even do anything else to see if i had any thing serious like Cataracts which is caused by contacts lens which he didnt even perform on me ..obviously theirs more going if vision is getting worse so what do i do?

i really feel like im going blind and i have either Cataracts or glaucoma, i checked all online and i have all symptoms im not sure if this is right diagnose but he seems liek and its the only explanation i can come up with for my loss of vision daily.. he didn’t even perform the test to see if i have any of these only did on my mom and not me even though i was teh one supposed get the test done.

First of all, stop leaving your contacts in overnight. Your eyes are not able to “breathe” right, and can impact the health of your eyes.

Cataracts are NOT caused by contact lenses. Cataracts is a clouding of the crystalline lens, typically caused by long-term exposure to UV light, exposure to radiation, or trauma. It is more commonly found in older people. Glaucoma is most often caused by increased ocular pressure and affects your peripheral vision.

I would recommend not wearing your contacts for a period of time and then go back to the doctor and have your eyes examined.

EDIT: Thanks Footprintz. I guess I missed putting the NOT in there. Changed that.

Question by TLoBo23: Troubles Seeing in Right Eye?
For almost 3 weeks I have been having troubles seeing out of my right eye. It is almost as if I have been staring at a light for a long time and then look away. It started while I was at work working with my computer and it seems to progressively gotten worse where it is almost everywhere I look. I will occasionally have some good days where it barely bothers me at all, though rarely. I went to the Ophthalmologist and she couldn’t really find anything wrong, except my right eye is a little “blurry” when you look into it. My eye pressure was 17 and everything else looked fine. She wants me to have a glucose testing to see if maybe that could be the cause of at least my high vision change. She said she wants to see me back in 3 months for a follow up as the blurriness could be the beginning of something, possibly cataracts. Has this ever happened to anyone??
I am 22 years old. I am fairly healthy and am pretty sure I do not have diabetes. I have been tested recently as I have a 6 month old and was tested for diabetes among other things. I do not have aids, I have been tested a few times with pregnancies and have only been with 1 person and he is not cheating on me. Any other ideas? Thanks for everyones help!

Question by angelica: PUPPY HAS A WHITE SPOT ON HIS RIGHT EYE! WHAT IS IT!?
My puppy, hes a dotson and poodle terrier, had blue eyes, but now his eyes are brown (his adult color) he’s 13 weeks old. But we noticed a small white spot on his right eye. It seems like its gotton alot bigger and I’m worried he’s going blind! Should i be worried? Some people say it could be a mineral deposit, others said cataracts, others say some weird stuff like a fly could have layed eggs in his eye! I’m so sad because of this so what could it be and what could i do?

Dachshund, Poodle and some kind of terrier must be a cute mix. You need to take the puppy in for his vaccinations anyway so when you are there next time, if it will be SOON, ask the vet to have a look. If you are worried, give the vet a call on the phone to ask if a white spot on the eye is something to worry about. The vet will probably need to see the eye to tell you what it is. Won’t it be better to KNOW than to worry what if it is this or that? Then you can get the eye taken care of right away if there is a problem.

I wish I could tell you more but this is definitely a job for a veterinarian.

could it be wool or something on the eye? wash it out and use an eye ointment you can get at a pet store I think.

Question by rg: Why does vision in my left eye rotate clockwise 3 degrees? True with or w/o glasses. Not true for right eye.?
Has been true both before and after cataract removal in both eyes. Neither of my opthalmologists (one for cataract removal the other for early stage glaucoma) can provide an answer. I am 71.
