Question by Sociopath: Foggy vision, slight reddening and halos around lights. All symptoms only on the right eye…?
…is gluacoma a possibility? I feel no pain even while pressing the eye over the eyelids. This occured about 4 days ago and the halos first started appearing after a shower. I’m just 19 so i supposed the possibility of developing cataracts can be ruled out. I had never worn glasses and possesed healthy vision.
Any suggestions?

Don’t rule out the possibility of a cataract just yet. I am 26yrs and recently had cataracts removed from BOTH eyes. Although uncommon, cataracts can develop in patients as young as infants. Cataracts in younger patients develop much quicker than those seen in the elderly. They can get worse over the course of months, weeks or even days. The symptoms you described are very similar to what I experienced- foggy vision, halos and star bursts.
Go to an optometrist and explain your symptoms. Only an eye doctor will be able to tell what’s wrong with your eyes.

You need to see an eye doctor of optician. If a doctor that has examined you cannot tell you what it is (which I find hard to believe), then I really dont think anybody on here will be able to tell you either!

Even if your doctors had not reached a final diagnosis, then they would have excluded things like infection or glaucoma already, and then they would have referred you to a specialist if needed or told you that it was ok and did not need investigation

Question by calban05: my friend is 50she had lasik in one eye – 3 months later ONLY that eye now has cataracts must b related?

Best answer:

Answer by Belie
You cannot take two things together and say that they “must be” related. They very well may not have been related.

I bought new shoes and tripped a few days later when walking in them. It must be because of the new shoes and not because I’m clumsy, the sidewalk was uneven, I wasn’t paying attention, et cetera.

That is basically what you’re saying. You’re using a poor form of logic. It COULD have been caused but consider the other facts. She is fifty. If she’s had laser eye surgery her eyes must have been poor from the start. What about her family’s eye history? Why did she only get surgery for one eye, because that eye was significantly worse than the other from the start?

request of Bluebeard : I had cataract surgery five days ago and in time as well then I do not feel sick, but only one? a little strange. New lens in the eye, which were run by, but my other eye is just my natural eyes with cataract on them. It will be removed within a few weeks. Why do I feel weird? Is it because my brain is always confussed signals from my eyes? best answer:

I’m not sure. It may be coincidence that you feel ill disposed at the same time as surgery. Or you can use a little re-action to anesthesia or other prescription medications you were given. You might want to call the doctor’s office and tell them and see what will appear.
