3 shots, antibiotics and hi vite supplement. The day after her injections her left eye started getting cloudy and the next day her right eye was the same way. What could have changed her eyes from brown to grey? Looks like cataracts.

I really think you need to contact your Vet ASAP and find out what’s going on with your puppy.

Question by ☮♥dance:): what can i do for my friend that’s getting eye surgery and will be out of school for a month?
One of my best friends has to get eye surgery because she has a detached retina. she’s had eye problems since she was little, and she had to get a cataract when she was 4ish. so now she has a detached retina and she has surgery tomorrow morning. she can’t see right now because she has patches on her eyes to prepare for surgery, and we don’t know the next time she will actually be able to see. if the surgery doesn’t work she’s going to have to get gas in her eyes and be out for another 2 weeks, and from the sound of the doctors thats a definite possibility. i went to her house today and talked to her and got her a teddy bear, and our girl scout troop made her a blanket and we all signed it, but i want to do something really special for her. Me and my friends were thinking about taking pictures of EVERYTHING during the time she’s gone, but i don’t think the school would approve of us taking pictures in the classes and stuff. then we thoguht we could have everyone record a message and we could send it to her, but i’m just looking for ideas because i’m really going to miss her and i want to do something amazing for her. this is all really sudden, she just found out friday, and it’s probably going to be hard for all of us. so if you have any ideas of what we can do, thank you so muchh.

Make some kind of documentary. It would be really really fun!
If your school cared about one of their precious students, ask for permission, and hope they say yes! If they don’t, explain why and say she would be gone AND MISS EVERYTHING BECAUSE SHE WON’T BE HERE TO SEE IT.
I’m sure everyone would agree to that and have fun.
I hope the surgery will go smoothly.x

Question by artsy2111: I’m having cataract IOL surgery next month. Considering going with the Crystalens IOL.?
I have lifetime myopia (can’t see big E on chart) and age related presbyopia (age 60). I wear constacts and have astigmatism. I am considering the Crystalens so I will not have to wear glasses under most circumstances. I understand with the standard clear lens (which insurance would pay for), it only would correct my distance vision and I’d still have to wear readers. I work FT and am constantly taking readers on and off all day. Any one had any experience with the Crystalens or have any advise. The Crystalens will cost me $ 5000 or so out of my own pocket as insurance won’t pay for that one.
I’ve done a lot of reading about ReZoom and the Crystalens. My Dr thinks the Crystalens would meet my needs better. I’m still thinking maybe I should just go with the standard clear lens for cataracts and wear readers.
I tried the “bifocal” approach to contacts once, with one for distance and one for near, and the net result is you don’t see either clearly. That’s not an option I’m considering, but I appreciate the input. I think I’m tending to lean more toward just going with the “tried & true” monofocal and use readers, but I need to find out how close I will actually be able to see without the aid of glasses. For example, should I be able to see the instrument panel in the car without reading glasses? If I only need them for reading and computer, that should be fine. I do have an appt with the opthamologist (M.D.) for him to do the measurements and exam prior to scheduling surgery. He seems to have very good credentials and a good rep. I think one of my concerns with the multi-focal and adaptive lenses is no real long-term experience.

Crystalens is ONE of the multifocal IOL options available:
Array, ReStor, ReZoom, Crystalens…
They do have varying properties, best points and drawbacks.
Have you been talked-through the range of multi-focals and it been clearly decided that the Crystalens is the best for you?
If not, you may have some more reading to do.
The second URL, while only the experience of one practitioner, contains a lot of interesting feedback.

Question by Heather K: My 14 month old has a cataract…?
My 14 month old has a cataract.?
About 2 months ago, we found out that my son who is 14 months old has a cataract on his right eye. We saw a pediatric opthamologist whom decided surgery would not be the best option at this point. He gave my baby a pair of glasses to wear with a very powerful lense over the eye with the cataract and a plain lense over his good eye. My question is how can glasses help my son see through a cataract. I am thinking that the best thing to do would be to remove the cataract then give him glasses if his vision needs to be corrected. If anyone knows anything about this please help me ease my mind. I am worried if he wears the glasses and they are too strong if will ruin what eyesite he does have in that eye…?????

They do not operate on cataracts until they get to a certain stage. They then say that they are ripe and ready for surgery. Maybe this is what the Dr. meant.
