Question by drunkmanning: are the crystal lens implants for cataract surgery worth the money?
Best answer:
Answer by anon
My father was nearly blind without even realizing it. He noticed when all of a sudden he could not read the street signs, and missed a turn. He panicked and parked his car in the first spot he found, hailed a cab and was driven home. That was before his surgery.
After crystal replacement surgery he was able to go without glasses (he had worn them all his life). This was six or so years ago, and he can still drive. He’s pushing 70 at the moment, so I’d say they are worth it. Wouldn’t you?
