I am scheduled to go to boot camp Aug. 5th after i graduate from high school. I am in the delayed entry program since i am only 17 right now. I have been to MEPS and have been sworn in and i asked a lot about Recon while i was there. My recruiter made some calls and said something about having a spot kept open for me but you know recruiters. I run and swim every day and workout in a gym every other day to prepare for boot camp so i know i will be physically fit enough. the only thing i am worried about is that i had cataract surgery on my right eye when i was 4 yrs old. The vision is better than 20/200 so the vision isn’t the problem. I’m just worried about if having the surgery is a problem. So my two questions are, will the surgery be a problem? and what do i do after/in boot camp to go to marine corps force recon training?

Nah, you pass their physical you’ll be fine.

Check with your local recruitment, I am sure that would matter, while How is your vision to even pay USMC introduced to make very personal things with his eyes as cataract Lasik should not disqualify you.
