Cataracts Treatment

Question by Alo: I can’t tell if I have a retinal tear. I am a 20 yr old male and I just had phakic IOL done last Thursday.
When I look down and have something close to my face I notice a very small shadow and can see my eye focusing on the left side of my left eye. I can barely notice this but I want to ask you if this could be signs of a retinal tear. Btw, I am very nearsided and my doctor just performed phakic IOL (cataracts surgery). What do you think?

I think only an ophthalmologist can answer your question… but most retinal tears and detachments are very painful.

I have tried Mareck.com (only can find Radial keratotomy for myopia.

my glasses had to have prescription (2.25) for reading. During the eye, everything turned out alright except that this time the doctor informed me that I have astigmatism. He explained to me what it was but I don’t have the symptoms, that is, flat or distorted view. He said that a new set of glasses will improve my sight although at the moment my sight could not be any better. I hate to spend the money for a new set of glasses unless I have to. My question is, is my astigmatism going to get worse if I don’t get a new prescription glasses? Or just wait until the condition starts to bother me. I have Vision insurance so I get free eye test every year but the coverage does not pay much for frames or anything extra such as photo or bifocals.

No, your astigmatism won’t get any worse because you didn’t get glasses.

It is probably very mild and isn’t all that important to correct being as you still feel you see well.

You can always have that part of the correction added the next time you want new glasses.

You really need to be talking to your vet about this.I know it can be very expensive.If you are like me…I love my dog so much that money doesn’t matter.

only one eye doctor who personally examine your eyes after surgery, a useful answer to this question liefern. Normalerweise see your surgeon one week after surgery, ask him then. user
