Cataracts Treatment

Question by Andrea N: Anyone have cataracts info?
I am 27 and have been diagnosed with cataracts since the age of 19. The vision in my left eye has gotten horribly worse and driving at night is becoming very difficult with the excessive halos, double images, and spikes on lights and reflective paint and signs. In the daylight though, despite the fact that when the sun is bright is it a bit painful for my eyes to adjust to the glare intensity, I feel like I see fine. The last time, 2 years ago I had the cataracts imaged on screen they were pretty small. They were both smaller than my pupil. I just don’t know if getting the removed at this point would be beneficial? Or could I stand waiting it out. Does your vision really improve all that much, or do you find that that you need bifocals afterward because your natural lens has been effected by the surgery itself. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Also, I have never been told why I have cataracts at such a young age. Does anyone have any ideas there? Thanks!

take your list of questions to the next ophthalmologist appointment & have them answered before you leave the office.
