I’m from India, I’m 30 y.o. and I’ve discovered that driving cars, speeding and racing cars are my passion. However, the authority refused to issue me driving license because of my left eye cataract (blind), but I’d like to take car race as my career, are there anyway i could achieve this? Please help. Thanks.

Well, if you have enough money to start racing, then you should have enough money to get your eye fixed.

Pleae help my guniea pig.?
ok i wanna know whats wrong with my guniea ok
about one month ago his eye was swollen crusty and sometimes it was close shut and white stuff was coming out and round.
then i took him to the vet. the vet give eye drops.
then it got better. then about 2 weeks ago it came back.
so it wasnot that bad so i did not take him to the vet. so now about 3 days it was the same as before swollen smaller than the other eye crusty and white stuff.
and today i took at his eye in the middie i see a ittle white spot . i got scared my heart was beating really fast cuz i donot want him to go blind so is he going blind or no he is about less than one year he is a hairless gunieapig.
he plays jumps and runs around withmy hamster and my bunny he eats sleeps and drinkls he acts fine and normal. he is not in pain at all.
but i am worry cuz i donot get pay until friday i only have 140 i need it so i cannot afford to take him to the vet until friday.

so what is that white thing in the middle of his eye ? could it be a cataract? if so will he go blind or no?

if he has a cataract he would need surgey to removed it cuz i had it done on me before.

but how much will it be for a guniea pig cataract surgery.

It does not sound like a cataract. They generally do not do that kind of surgery at a regular vet’s. It sounds like a small cyst or ulcer on his eye. Definately have the vet take a look, tell you what it is, and how to prevent this from happening again.

Be aware that if the eye infection is contagious the other pets could get it too. Best to keep them separate for now.

I recently took my dog to the vet and found out she has cataracts. Now he said it isn’t bad because you can barley make out if she has it or not. He made us of the light and showed it to us by putting a light to her eyes. But I still couldn’t see it , I think my parents could. Anyway my dog is a bichion and I read books of watched shows on animal planet about them. According to both books and shows bichion can live up to 20 years I just wanted to know if this will shorten her life or keep her healthy. Please answer with experience .

It will just cause her to eventually go blind, not shorten her life. Blind dogs live full life spans, just blind. The only way this would shorten her life would be if the cataracts were a secondary issue due to a main problem like diabetes. Diabetes can cause cataracts, but chances are if she was just at the vet and had a thorough check up (blood work, etc) and she hasn’t changed her eating/drinking behaviour then it’s just cataracts nothing else.

NOW I AM 18 BUT MY EYES HAVE BECOME SMALL LIKE CHINESE PEOPLE BEFORE THE SURGERY MY EYES WERE NORMAL I DON T KNOW WHAT IS THE PROBLEM THE DOC SAYS
MY EYES HAVE BECAME WEAK BUT EYE SEE EVERY THING JUST MY EYS HAVE BCM SMALL
SOME ONE HAVING SOKUTION I M REALLY FRUSTRATED WITH THESE
DIFFICULT TO MAKE GF WITH THESE EYES

Your surgery 10 years ago is not going to have any affect on the way your eyes look now.

Lately, I have blurry vision, kinda like I just woke up, or what you would see in a cataract commercial
I’ve heard eye drops help fix this problem as it may be a vitamin deficiency.
Or could this be something worse? If I try to focus my vision it goes back to being clear but I have to focus a bit hard to keep is clear and in focus.
That’s the catch, I’ve seen two doctors. They both didn’t give me a answer, they didn’t know.
I’ve been doing alot of school work. But my sight hasn’t increased. And I’m only 17 so I doubt I can get cataracts. I don’t play videos but maybe once a week.
I went to a eye doctor who did a few test then referred me to a eye specialist at a hospital called MCG.
I’m also a photographer, so I take lots of pictures but I don’t strain when taking them. I don’t like tan’s so I don’t go out in the sun much to need eye protection.
I’ve never had eye surgery, but I did have an irregular heartbeat and high blood pressure but it’s normal now. And I only took meds for ADHD which I don’t take anymore.
I don’t have allergies, and I haven’t injured my eyes lately.
Video games* and I meant to say is hasn’t changed from it’s current vision level.
Can that be helped any? The farsightedness. I mean things I read up close are in focus but things a bit far off are out of focus, which is what I have to focus on.

My family need help…

My daughter has a cataract on one of her eye when we was 4 months and she went through an eye surgery to take the cataract out. After the surgery she has to wear a contact on that eye during the day. Without the contact she can go blind on that eye. Sometimes the contact fall out and we have to put it back in her eye immediately. because of that reason, my wife have to stay home and can’t go to work.

I’ve tried to keep this family above the water for the past 5 months but now I’m unemployed and we’re struggling through our everyday life.

I’ve applied for SSI (disability) for my daughter but has been deny.

What can i do now?

Is there any program out there that can help us? (private or gov’t)

Is there any program out there that can help family like us?

(contact lens for cataract is quite expensive)
lens, rent, food, bill bill and bills.. i’m in a black hole now.

Is there anything that my wife can do at home to make extra cash? like online job?

Too bad you live in the USA, the only developed country in the world without public health care or public health insurance. In any other county his surgery would be covered at no cost to him.

He will have to take out a loan, mortgage his house, borrow from relatives, get a second job or live with the blurred vision.

The first three are primary congenital cataracts.

Sutural cataract

As the lens is being formed as a fetus the collagen fibers of the lens come together along a y shaped “suture”. This is a congenital cloudiness associated with a problem in the closure of this suture.

Lamellar cataract

The collagen fibrils of the lens are laid down in sheets (or lamellae). A lamellar cataract is an opacification confined to one of these lamellar sheets of collagen.

Secondary cataract

This is not a primary cataract but rather occurs in the great majority of patients who have had cataract surgery.
