Just laugh—-doesn’t do any good to cry.
Julie Andrews turns 69 -
To commemorate her 69th birthday on October 1 last year,
Actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews
made a special appearance at Manhattan’s Radio City Music Hall
for the benefit of the AARP.
One of the musical numbers she performed was
“My Favourite Things” from the legendary movie,
“Sound Of Music”.
Here are the lyrics she used:
Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favourite things.
Cadillac’s and cataracts, and hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favourite things.
When the pipes leak,
When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favourite things,
And then I don’t feel so bad.
Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favourite things.
Back pains, confused brains, and no need for sinnin’,
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin’,
And we won’t mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favourite things.
When the joints ache,
When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I’ve had,
And then I don’t feel so bad.
Ms. Andrews received a standing ovation from the
crowd that lasted over four minutes
and
repeated encores!

while i’m not pregnant now i do plan on having children at some point and i have glaucoma.
i have wondered this for a while now but since i am not pregnant i haven’t asked my eye specialist about it yet.
i’m just curious at this point since i have glaucoma is it possible for me to deliver vaginally or would i need a c-section?
my glaucoma is completely under control. (my pressure is usually between 12-18 in each eye). i take cosopt eye drops twice a day in my right eye for it and i had a tube inserted in my left eye to control the pressure cuz the drops weren’t working.
btw i have also had several other eye issues including 4 detached retinas (twice in each eye). also i was born with coloboma and recently had cataract surgery. i’m not sure if any of that contributes how i deliver a baby i figured i’d lay it all out there.

I can’t afford the eye drops or the surgery to remove the cataracts. Both conditions lead to blindness. I rec’d a disabled bus pass so why can’t I receive help from Social Security? I do work 37 hrs/wk.

So my dog got cataracts and so I spent $3,000 for him to have the surgery.
First off the 3k was for both eyes, it would have only been $1,500 for one eye, but both had the cataracts. THE point is, the doc said…oh well the lense was too thin for the one eye, so we couldnt fix it.
So now my dog can only see out of 1 eye, and runs into walls and things.
Then we go for our “follow up” visits which are $120 dollars for the visit and $130 for 4 bottles of eye drops that he needs.
So every month that is $250 dollars! Come on doc, you are killin me here.
Do I have the right to ask him for a price break or for a $1,500 refund of the one eye since he didnt fix that one? Or what should I do?
