Question by little_1_luck: What could this cat’s eye color be or mean?
I was visiting my local SPCA adoption shelter and there was a new ‘bush’ kitten brought in the day before; he is an average light orange tabby kitten. This kitten’s eyes are unusually colored though his irises are a normal gold/orange color, but the pupil and surrounding cornea has a blueish tint to it. It looks a bit like cataracts but instead of being concentrated and milky looking the blue is all over, even, and incredibly light almost giving the whole eye a very light cobalt tint. The kitten doesn’t appear to be blind either, he follows moving objects well and has no problems getting around. I am just curious what this odd blue haze look could be? I’ve seen many cats in my life but I’ve never seen this specific look.

Question by Jenna: horse’s eye completely clouded over, what could it be?
my friend just called asking if i knew what was wrong with her horse’s eye.
I haven’t seen the eye yet, so I can only report what she told me. The horse is an older Appaloosa gelding (with brown eyes, not blue).

she said a few days ago he appeared to have a small white cloudy patch in one of his eyes, and was a little bit spooky to that side, indicating he probably couldnt see well, but was fine otherwise.

now she says his entire eye, not just his pupil, is clouded over in an opaque blue-white color and he has no vision out of that eye. there is no dischange or draining from the eye, its not swollen, and besides blindness, he seems normal.

shes going to call the vet tomorrow, but in the meantime, what do you think this could be? cataracts only affect the pupil over the eye, but this horse’s eye is completely white

Question by amilliee: Sudden White film on dogs eye, what could it be?
Golden retriever female. On beach for last 2 days. We brought her and a new dog friend to play with. It appeared that the other dog may have bitten the golden on the face (but it is not entirely a fact/known) The other dog knocked the golden in the sand a few times while playing around. After a little while a white film was noticed on the golden’s eye. Could it be a wound from the other dog? or sand? or what could have happened? She does not have cataracts. The golden cannot keep her eye open as of now. What causes this film to occur? Is the eye just healing?

Question by brilbeaut: What could cause my eye pain?
My eye hurts, as if it was bruised. We are in between health insurance for 2 weeks, but I don’t want to wait if this is serious. I had cataract surgery 3 years ago and my vision’s been terrific. It’s still ok, but my eye hurts, especially when I close it.
I don’t have my wisdom teeth. But thanks for trying.

I don’t know about the surgery, but if you still have your wisdom teeth, they can grow up into your sinus and put pressure in your eye cavity

Question by Ashley Jenkins: My dog cries loud from my boyfriend. im worried because he now has what could be a cataract in his eye?
He’s been living with me and my dog for seven months. I’ve never heard my dog cry the way he does around my boyfriend. It scares me and ill even scream. I don’t do well with loud noises. It’s usually for no reason. But he tries to pick him up and Hell cry as if he’s in pain. I have been getting inflamation of the heart from the stress. Is it possible that my dog developed the eye problem from stress?
