Question by little_1_luck: What could this cat’s eye color be or mean?
I was visiting my local SPCA adoption shelter and there was a new ‘bush’ kitten brought in the day before; he is an average light orange tabby kitten. This kitten’s eyes are unusually colored though his irises are a normal gold/orange color, but the pupil and surrounding cornea has a blueish tint to it. It looks a bit like cataracts but instead of being concentrated and milky looking the blue is all over, even, and incredibly light almost giving the whole eye a very light cobalt tint. The kitten doesn’t appear to be blind either, he follows moving objects well and has no problems getting around. I am just curious what this odd blue haze look could be? I’ve seen many cats in my life but I’ve never seen this specific look.

This is a fantastic question to call and ask your doctor that did your surgeries! No one in here is qualified to tell you something like this becuase no one can see you nor do we know your case, and in most instances, like me, we are not surgeons.

Question by lovestolaugh: What causes eye color to change?
As he’s gotten older, my husband’s eyes have changed from brown to blue. Is this a sign of cataracts or some other eye disorder? He has regular eye exams, and nothing has ever been said about cataracts.

My eyes are changing color as well but I’m only 16 and they regularly change from hazel to green to gray to blue. But i have good eyesight so it might not be anything …

Question by Alfredo: My eye color in one eye is changing. Is there anything I can do to stop or reverse it?
I was born with cataracts in both eyes. My vision in my right eye is significantly worse than the left. My eyes are dark brown. I have been wearing one contact in my right eye since age 12. I don’t wear one in my left eye because the vision can’t be corrected. I’m 25 now and my right eye is getting lighter and now it is noticeable and people are starting to comment on it.
Does it make me more or less attractive?

Everyone’s irises lighten over time. It is usually not noticeable until a person reaches a ripe old age and is more noticeable in people with blue or green eyes, but it’s understandable that you would be outside the norm.
I’d say the only thing you can do about it is to switch your right contact to a colored prescription lens and then get a matching colored lens for your left eye.
Or if your comments seem to be mostly from women and of the “oh wow, I’ve never seen that before” variety I wouldn’t worry about it.

Question by Marcus: why is my cats eye changing color? It started as a small dot and now in 6 years has turned his whole eye brown?
He had a small brown dot in his eye and over time got bigger and now his once green eye is now fully brown. The “tests” I do with him tell me hes not blind, Does anyone know if this condition hurts him or what is causing this? I don’t think It’s cataracts because I’ve seen that before. Thanks in advance for any info.

My cat actually had this to once!
Her eyes were originally golden but there was a brown dot on one and seemed to get bigger over time. I never got to see it turn the whole eye as she died with the first snow. got lost and then we found her when the snow melted. I would take it to the vet. They may just end up saying its benign.
