Question by untarick: I just bought a 16yr old tennessee walker who has a slight cloudiness in his left eye and appears to be blind?
I just bought a 16yr old tennessee walker who has a slight cloudiness in his left eye and appears to be completely blind in that eye I plan to keep him but i am concerned that he may lose sight in his right eye does anyone know much about cataracts in horses?

Get the vet out and have him checked for moon blindness. It’s not 100% treatable but it is very manageable, the earlier you start the better.

Question by Helpful2U: Why do blind eyes turn blue? The actual iris, NOT cataract or cloudiness. Do all blind eyes do this?

It’s called corneal opacity. It can happen because of trauma, infection or can be congenital opacity. Not all impaired have it.
