I had it done on both eyes within two years of each other. Easy peasy. The surgery itself is virtually pain-free, afterward you may have a little discomfort which lasts maybe a day. For me, my vision improved immediately (I was having “halos” and blurred night vision), although I did have to have my prescription for glasses changed both times. Not everybody does. There is much to be gained and nothing to lose. Good luck.

Question by Ellie: Is extra virgin olive oil bad for your eye area?
Ive been using extra virgin olive oil to remove my eye liner every night because michelle phan recommended it on her video and it works really well. but recently on her new youtube video she created a makeup remover with extra virgin olive oil and someone commented and said this:
Oil is TERRIBLE for your eye area! It will collect and conglomerate in the back of your eye socket, and can cause retina and cataract problems! PLEASE only use oil free products on and around your eyes!
Now I’m terrified that my eyes are gonna get ruined! Is this true or what? If its true its no big deal..ill go get some actual eye make up remover..but the only reason why ive been using extra virgin olive oil is because its cheaper and it doesnt hurt my eyes to remove my make up.. I wear eyeliner basically 5 times a week monday-friday. and every night i take it off with extra virgin olive oil and then take a shower to wash my face and everything. is it really damaging to the eye area? I’m worried.

Question by Cheryl Houston: cataract surgery followup?
(besides forgetting to follow instructions) do any of you experience temporary floaters? ty. overall I am thrilled with the outcome
Best answer:
Answer by Qwerty
You should go to your optician for a post op cataract review, if the floaters have always been there thats fine, floaters can be a sign that you have a vitreous or a retinal detachment if they have occurred suddenly, so go get them checked out asap!

Question by Steve: Blurry vision: Will eye drops help?
Lately, I have blurry vision, kinda like I just woke up, or what you would see in a cataract commercial
I’ve heard eye drops help fix this problem as it may be a vitamin deficiency.
Or could this be something worse? If I try to focus my vision it goes back to being clear but I have to focus a bit hard to keep is clear and in focus.
That’s the catch, I’ve seen two doctors. They both didn’t give me a answer, they didn’t know.
I’ve been doing alot of school work. But my sight hasn’t increased. And I’m only 17 so I doubt I can get cataracts. I don’t play videos but maybe once a week.
I went to a eye doctor who did a few test then referred me to a eye specialist at a hospital called MCG.
I’m also a photographer, so I take lots of pictures but I don’t strain when taking them. I don’t like tan’s so I don’t go out in the sun much to need eye protection.
I’ve never had eye surgery, but I did have an irregular heartbeat and high blood pressure but it’s normal now. And I only took meds for ADHD which I don’t take anymore.
I don’t have allergies, and I haven’t injured my eyes lately.
Video games* and I meant to say is hasn’t changed from it’s current vision level.
Can that be helped any? The farsightedness. I mean things I read up close are in focus but things a bit far off are out of focus, which is what I have to focus on.

Question by antelias: tilted IOL in left eye?
i had an IOL implanted after having cataract surgery i had the lense in my left eye put in at the age of 19. i am now 22 and my vision has gotten worse. a doctor in beirut checked me out and says my implanted lens has tilted or is out of place. can a second surgery repair this? or can i have a second lense implanted in my eye?
Best answer:
Answer by ?
A second lens can affect the eye side view, where you can observe the extrinsic muscles attached directly to the eyeball that allow movement of the eye. Tambiem may prejudice the straight four that are aligned with their points of origin, while the two obliques are inserted into the ocular surface at an angle.
