Question by SallyMay: What is another insurance Dad needs to apply for besides his Medicare?
My Dad has medicare so when I call the eye clinic places so that he can get some cataracts taken off then they say Medicare will not pay for the whole surgery. So what is another insurance that DAd can apply for that will not break him and at the same time it, the insurance, will cover the other part of his eye surgery.

Question by Ruxandra V: Is there a disease/illness that causes the entire eye to turn white?
Is there a disease or illness that causes ones entire eye to film over to a white?
You see so many ‘blind gypsies/mediums’ within movies that seem to have this problem. Is it just to add to special affect do such illnesses actually exist?
Prime examples are:
Storm from X-men
The old woman from The Others

There are also contact lenses that give a prime example.
I am not talking about cataracts, unless there are such severe cases and I simply have never seen them. Thanks!

It is real.

Cataracts are just that. They cloud up the lens of your eye, and appear white or milky from the outside looking in. Eventually a cataract can progress to completely blocking out light, those would be the extreme cases that make your eyes appear white.

Glaucoma can also create a similar appearance in advanced stages.

Good to get regular eye exams once you start getting older!
