Hello, I have cataract in both eyes despite beeing quite young (I’m in my early thirties). I would like very much to avoid surgery because of complications in my particular case. I have done many research on the Internet and I have found the following alternatives:
-Bates method and other eye exercises
-omeopathy (Eyebright drops, other herbs, etc)
- nutritional approach (vitamins, avoid certain food)
My big question is: Do they work? Have you had direct experience of anybody beeing cured with these alternative approaches?
Many thanks everyone!

I can’t afford the eye drops or the surgery to remove the cataracts. Both conditions lead to blindness. I rec’d a disabled bus pass so why can’t I receive help from Social Security? I do work 37 hrs/wk.

I have had a small 0.5cm (approx) cloudy lesion in my eye for a week now. First I had conjunctivis, eye infection and got antibiotic eye drops as treatment. Itching, redness disappeared, but this cloudy thing remains. It does not affect eyesight, it’s not painful at all. Any ideas? One doctor at work said it’s not glaucoma/cataract, i hope he’s right. I need to go see a proper eye doctor I know, but thought I’d ask if anyone here would have similar experience?

I had an intraocular lens implanted on Dec. 3. Obviously, the first few days I saw lots of halos and light streaks. They slowly subsided but never went away. Actually, I believe they are getting worse, especially at night. Most lights have halos and even in moderate light, I see a kaleidoscope like effect that is perfectly circular when looking at lights.
I used my eye drops as directed and had my second follow-up two weeks ago and was told everything looks perfect. Upon asking WHY these disturbances seem to be getting worse, I was told the cataract was so bad (it was totally opaque), that my retina will need time to adjust. My major question is why are they getting WORSE? I emailed my PCP and he asked for them to check if a “film” or membrane is forming around the new lens. Wouldn’t they have been able to see that during my last visit? This is getting frustrating! Thanks.
