I assume you have had a long talk with the Anesthesia gas passer.
I had both eyes done over a year time… I had glaucoma in both eyes and the left eye also needed a trabiculectomy (which hurt like hell) but the glaucoma is under control and I have 20/30 vision uncorrected in the right eye now.. so it was worth it.
I know how you feel though… I made up my mind before I had the surgeries that I would never live blind and stashed a couple of hand guns around the house so I could find them if I had to grope around to do it.

If you have a medical background, then you should know that cataract surgery is the most common surgery performed today. There is no need to worry about the procedure. Time spent in the recovery room is much longer than the time spent on the actual surgery. A qualified ophthalmologist is capable of performing this surgey in 10 to 15 minutes.
Needless to say, both eyes cannot be done at the same time. But, once you see the results after after the surgery, you would have no worries about having the other eye done.

Any kind of surgery is scary, especially on the eyes. I’ve had several family members who have had the procedure done and have come out just fine. I know that’s probably no comfort, but hugs to you anyway. Good luck.

Get a grip. Cataract surgery has been going on since the 5th century BC For real. Brush up on your Sanskrit and look it up. In other words the medical profession has had plenty of time to learn how to do it right. The worst thing you can do is get yourself in a tizzy and raise your blood pressure and get your fight-or-flight chemicals pumping. RELAX dammit. Rent some funny movies. Read funny books. I prescribe mega doses of James Thurber. Think about people and things and places you love and how happy you are going to be when you can see them again. I have known a zillion people who have been through this and they all came out fine. You’ll be fine too unless you psyche yourself into a heart attack or something. RELAX.
