One of the post cataract surgery complication is glaucoma. You need to know the type of cataract surgery that you are going to have (phaco or complete removal of the lens). And try to look for the best ophthalmologist around to have least complication

My grandmother had both of those surgeries at the same time. Only your eye doctor can tell you which to do first or if you can do them at the same time. It depends on the overall health of your eye and how much pressure reduction you need for your glaucoma.

Cataract surgery can sometimes result in lower intraocular pressures, even if it isn’t paired with glaucoma surgery. The overall reduction in pressure is usually not that large, however, and if your glaucoma is advanced, your doctor may choose to perform a combined cataract-glaucoma surgery. There are plusses and minuses to either approach. Be sure to ask your doctor what he or she recommends for you, and why.
