4 Responses to “How much does cataract surgery cost? Is it painful? What’s the recovery time?”

My grandpa had it…He had to lay face down for about a week, so his lens would stay in place. Expensive if you don’t have insurance, but if you do, it’s not too bad. Took about 2 weeks for my grandpa to get back to work.

Grandmother had that done. She said it doesnt hurt and recovery time is very fast. Techniques for this have improved. I think they use lasers now.

I think the cost of surgery depends where you are from but here is a rough idea. There is information on many more procedures such as CK – Conductive Keratoplasty and Custom Wavefront LASIK on this website. I hope its useful for you.

    Avg. Cost: $3000
Candidate: Severe vision changes due to cataract
    Length: 1 hour
    Treatments: One
    Results: Long-lasting
    Back to work: 1-7 days
