Is the recovery from a cataract operation painful?

I will probably need one in the near future (next few months) and wanted to know anyone who has recently undergone same (not their grandparents or parents). The field test shows some pre-glaucoma condition in my right eye and a loss of peripheral vision. Also have some eye burning and what feels like a sinus headache in the socket due to the pressure.

no, its uncomfortable, a bit scratchy and sore but not painful. your eye will water a lot and things will be blurry for a few days, you will have eye drops to use up to 4 times a day.. a few days maybe a week and you will be fine

i’ve had quite a few eye operations and i was expecting my eye to be sore but the craziest thing is it didn’t hurt at all. i’m talking not even one little bit of pain. i woke up feeling like they had never even gotten close to touching my eye.
don’t worry its a very quick procedure and awesomely pain free!
